    Reverend Nathan W. Detering, Minister

    Social Action Committee

A role of the Social Action Committee is to act as an informational resource. Please check the site regularly to learn what the Social Action Committee is up to. Another way to learn about the various activities and programs sponsored by the Social Action Committee is to attend our meetings. Meetings are generally held in the UUAC library at noon on the second Sunday of the month from September through June. Holidays and scheduling conflicts may result in a schedule shift. Please check the church calendar for the current schedule.

Legislation is one way that Social Action and Social Justice change takes place. In order to make contacting your local legislators easier a current listing of Massachusetts Senators and Representatives by town is available.

This page lists the Social Action programs sponsored by the UUAC. Some programs run year round whereas others occur seasonally. All programs have need of volunteers, whether you can spare a few hours or want to take up the cause. If you have a social action idea that you would like to see championed that isn't covered below please submit a Good Works Proposal. The proposal is submitted to the Social Action Committee to be discussed at their next meeting. Projects approved by the Social Action Committee receive official recognition, guidance and funding as needed.
